How to join Army Cadet College of Indian Army
Army Cadet College course is introduced to recruit officers from serving personnel of all the three services - Army, Navy and Air Force.

ACC entry is a boon for young and aspiring armed forces personnel who want to become commissioned officers.

Officers who have passed out through ACC will be placed in almost all branches of Indian Army. Thus, a rigorous four year training is provided for cadets of Army Cadet College.


Candidates who are about to join Indian Army through Army Cadet College ACC entry will have to undergo three year training in ACC. After successful completion of training at ACC, cadets will then have to undergo one year training at IMA Dehradun. Standards of ACC training are at par with NDA and NA.

Where to Find the ACC Course Notification?

Notification of ACC course is not released publicly as it is not for everyone. ACC notification is notified through headquarters of all the three forces internally to all serving soldiers. All candidates who want to become an officer in Indian Army will be allowed to apply for ACC course through their unit.

ACC Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for joining Army Cadet College is as follows.

  • Applicant should be serving in Indian Army / Navy / Air Force.
  • Applicant should be unmarried.
  • Age of the applicant should be between 19 to 27 years in order to apply for ACC course.
  • Service record of the applicant should be good.
  • No graduation is required.
  • Applicant should be medically fit.

Selection Procedure of Admission in to Army Cadet College

Selection procedure of admission into ACC is similar to that of NDA, AFCAT and CDS entry. First of all serving soldiers with two years plus service should apply for Army Cadet College course. ACC course notification releases twice in a year by the Indian Army. After the last date of applying for ACC course, applications received by Indian Army Headquarters will be scrutinized and all Army jawans, Air Force airmen and Navy sea men fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be shortlisted for ACC written examination. Candidates who are shortlisted for ACC course written exam will then have to undergo a written exam.

Depending upon the performance in written exam, candidates will be shortlisted for SSB interviews. SSB interview will be held exclusively for serving soldiers. SSB interview procedure and standards are same as for civilian candidates.

Recommended candidates will then undergo medical examination. Finally merit list of Army Cadet College course will be rolled out and successful candidates will join Army Cadet College as gentlemen cadets.
